Arsenal are hosting Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in London, looking to celebrate their first home win in the English Premier League this season.

Arsene Wenger’s team have played just one home game since the beginning the season – against Liverpool, which the Gunners lost after a lot of goals and dramatic moments at the Emirates. Afterwards Arsenal won four points from the next two games against Leicester City and Watford, so now the Gunners will be looking to continue with their good form in the last two games.

Southampton on the other hand started without a win in the first three games of the new season. The Saints lost against Manchester United and shared the points with Watford and Sunderland. It would be really optimistic to think that Southampton will record their first win in the Premier League at the Emirates, but they’d certainly try to get at least a point from the trip to the capital.

Arsenal showed some good effiency in ther attack against Watford at the Vicarage Road. Alexis Sanchez started the game as a striker and we saw the Chilean scoring one of the three goals in Heurelho Gomes’ net. The other two were scored by Santi Cazorla from a penalty kick and Mesut Ozil.

Southampton were unable to use their home advantage against Sunderland at the St. Mary’s Stadium in their last game. They were close to losing the game as well, taking into account that Jermaine Defoe scored for Sunderland ten minutes before the end. Luckily for the Saints, Jay Rodriguez saved a point for Southampton, scoring five minutes later.

This game is a good chance for Arsenal to get back on track and record a second straight win in the Premier League. The Gunners are going to need every point they could get this season, if they want to fight with the other powerhouses in the league.
