Could Fiorentina make one final push towards the Europa League places in the Serie A? Paulo Sousa’s team is currently 7 points behind the 5th Inter and if they want to keep their chances for European qualification, they need to win every game possible until the end. Starting with the home match against Bologna on Sunday afternoon.

Fiorentina are currently 8th in the Serie A with 48 points won, but they still have a chance to chase something better in the remaining rounds of the league. La Viola won its last two games in the Serie A – against Cagliari and Crotone, which was two good steps in the right direction. A win against Bologna is a must, if they want to do something better until the end of the campaign.

Bologna on the other hand are 13th in the league and it’s hard to say that they are fighting for much more right now. They still have chance to improve their place in the league, but that’s all for them. We should note that Roberto Donadoni’s team showed some improvement in its last two matches, winning against Sassuolo away and Chievo. Their performance against Chievo was impressive as they managed to score four goals. Donadoni’s boys are in good form at the moment, so let’s see how they are going to perform in Florence as well.

Fiorentina will be without the suspended Gonzalo Rodriguez, while Nenad Tomovic is injured. Four players are doubtful for the game – Giuseppe Scalera, Cristian Tello, Federico Bernardeschi and Bartłomiej Drągowski.

Bologna can’t rely on the suspended Eric Pulgar, while Fabrizio Brignani and Luca Rizzo are injured. Antonio Mirante and Domenico Maietta are doubtful.

Fiorentina are the favourite to win this game, but as we already said – do not underestimate Bologna’s good performance in the last two games. This is going to be an interesting clash.
