Soccer predictions online for M’Gladbach – Dortmund
Borussia M’gladbach hosts Borussia Dortmund at the Borussia-Park in probably the most interesting game from the Bundesliga’s 6th round. Let’s have a look at this fixture in these soccer predictions online.
Borussia M’gladbach are having a very tough start of the season under their new manager Adi Hutter. The Austrian coach arrived in the summer from Eintracht Frankfurt, but the way his team started the campaign is pretty much terrible. Borussia M’gladbach are currently 16th in the standings with just four points won from five matches played. Die Fohlen have won just one of their matches so far – against Arminia Bielefeld in the fourth round.
Last weekend Borussia M’gladbach faced Augsburg away from home and suffered their third defeat for the season. Adi Hutter’s team was close to getting a point at the WWK Arena, but Augsburg’s Florian Niederlechner scored a winner in the 80th minute. Soon after this Hutter picked Breel Embolo and Laszlo Benes from the bench, but the visitors didn’t find a way to get a draw at least.
Adi Hutter could try to make some changes for the next game, trying to motivate the team to do better. The Swiss international Breel Embolo could return in the line-up while Hannes Wolf is a good option to refresh the midfield. A lot of Die Fohlen’s players are underperforming at the moment, so taking some of them out of the line-up won’t be that hard for Hutter.
Clearly Adi Hutter needs some time to make the team play in the way he wants. The Austrian is a proven coach in the Bundesliga as he had some positive results with Eintracht Frankfurt. For M’gladbach it was difficult to part ways with the former coach Marco Rose, but they don’t have any choice right now – they have to stick with Hutter and give him enough time to prove his abilities.
One of the most disappointing aspects in Borussia M’gladbach’s performance so far is the attack. Die Fohlen are a team which usually score a lot of goals, but so far they have scored just five times in five matches played. The main strikers Patrick Herrmann, Alassane Plea, Marcus Thuram and Breel Embolo are underperforming at the moment as they have scored just one goal combined. M’gladbach’s most prolific player at the moment is the midfielder Lars Stindl who has scored twice during the 2021/22 campaign.
Adi Hutter left the world champion Christoph Kramer on the bench against Augsburg which was a bit surprising. It seems that right now Kramer is not in his optimal condition, so he would need some more work to return in the line-up. Usually the midfielder is very important for Borussia M’gladbach, so we expect to see him in action against Dortmund. Hutter will need his experience in the league because the team is in a difficult situation at the moment.
Borussia Dortmund are currently coached by Borussia M’gladbach’s former manager Marco Rose. Die Borussen are currently third in the standings with 12 points which means that they have started the season much better than Die Fohlen. This makes them favorites at the Borussia-Park even away from home.
In the last round Dortmund secured their fourth win for the season. The former champions hosted Union Berlin at the Signal-Iduna-Park and celebrated a convincing 4-2 win against the capital club. The team’s super star Erling Haaland scored twice for the hosts while Raphael Guerreiro scored one as well. Union’s Marvin Friedrich had the bad luck to score himself an own goal.
So far Marco Rose is using a 4-3-3 formation at Dortmund. Against Union Berlin he unsurprisingly put Erling Haaland at the top of the attack while Marco Reus and Donyell Malen suppored him from the flanks. Dahoud, Witsel and Bellingham started in midfield while Marius Wolf, Thorgan Hazard, Youssoufa Moukoko and Marin Pongracic entered the pitch from the bench.
The influence of Erling Haaland becomes more and more impressive. The Norwegian striker have scored 11 goals in 8 games for the club since the beginning of the season. And 68 goals in 67 matches since he joined Borussia Dortmund. Everyone knows that this is Haaland’s last season at the club, so probably he’s also motivated to leave Dortmund in the best way possible – by winning the Bundesliga title. The competition of Bayern Munich is enormous, but right now Die Borussen are just one point behind them in the standings. They have a chance if they show the consistency that’s needed for success.
The summer signing Donyell Malen is still waiting to score his first goal in German football. The 22-years old Dutch international was brought in from PSV to replace Jadon Sancho, but he still can’t open his account in the Bundesliga. Malen played in all five games since the beginning of the season, but no goals were scored. The fans are calm, though – they know that he’s a good player, so most likely it’s just a matter of time before he starts scoring on a regular basis.
It’s a curious thing what’s happening with the young Brazilian midfielder Reinier. The 19-years old is still waiting to record some minutes since the beginning of the season, but Marco Rose is not trusting him. There are rumours that Rose already decided to send him to another club in January. Nobody doubts that Reinier is a talented player, but so far he’s not getting any chances from the new manager.
That’s the soccer predictions online for the Bundesliga game between Borussia M’gladbach and Borussia Dortmund. These two teams are in a very different position right now, but it doesn’t mean it’s going to be a boring game. M’gladbach desperately need to step on their feet again while the visitors need to stay as close as possible to the top. In other words, both teams need to win. Borussia Dortmund’s head coach Marco Rose is facing his former club which could give his team some advantage – he knows M’gladbach pretty well and that’s a solid help.
